4、fISandorganizations.Second,thereisadearthofliteraturethatconsiderstherelationshipbetweenalign-mentandimplementationsuccess.Inthispaper,weaddressbothofthesegapsbyconsideringtheinfluenceoforganizationalsubculturesonthealignmentofaspecificIS—aknowledgemanagementsystem(K
5、MS)—withorganizationalstrategy.Ouranalysisdemonstratestheimportantrolesplayedbythreedifferentsubcultures—enhancing,countercultural,andchameleon—inthealignmentoftheKMS.Theanalysisalsounderscoresthecomplementarynatureofthealignmentandimplementationliteraturesandsugge
6、ststhattheyshouldbeusedinconcerttoexplainthesuccessofanIS.Drawingonouranalysis,webuildasubculturemodel,whichdepictstheintersectionofalignmentandimplementation.Fromamanagerialperspective,thesubculturemodelhigh-lightsthreedifferentapproachestomanagingalignmentandimpl
7、ementation.Fromatheoreticalperspective,ourpaperhighlightstheneedforISalignmentmodelstobemodified,sothatsubunit-levelanalysesareincorpo-rated.Italsoillustratesthatorganizationsconfrontchallengesofalignmentandimplementationsimultaneouslyratherthansequentially.Keywords
