1、IndianStreamsResearchJournalORIGINALARTICLEISSN:-2230-7850Abstract:-Crowdsourcingisoneofanovelandpotentiallyusefultooltoassesschildhoodpredictorsofadultobesity.Theexploratorystudyexaminedwhethercrowdsourcingcouldgeneratewell-documentedpredictorsinobesityresearchand,whethernewguidelinesforfutur
2、eresearchcouldbeuncovered.TheORIGINALARTICLEparticipantsrecruitedthroughsocialmediatoaquestion-generationwebsite,onthattheyhaveansweredquestionsandtheywereabletocreatenewquestionsthattheythoughtcouldpredictobesity.Duringthetwoweeksofdatacollection,532participants(63%female;age=26.5±6.7;BMI=29.
3、0±7.0)registeredonthewebsiteandsuggestedatotalof56uniquequestions.seventeenofthesequestionscorrelatedwithbodymassindex(BMI)andcoveredseveralthemesidentifiedbypriorresearch,suchasparentingstylesandCROWDSOURCING:ANOVELTOOLTOASSESShealthylifestyle.Mostimportantthingis,PREDICTIONOFBEHAVIORALSTRUCT
4、URESparticipantsareabletoidentifypotentialdeterminantsthatwererelatedtoalowerBMI,buthavenotbeenthesubjectofextensiveresearch,suchasparentspackingtheirkid'slunchtoschoolortalkingtothemaboutnutritionfood.Thefindingsindicatethatcrowdsourcingcanreproducealreadyexistinghypothesesandalsogenerateidea
