4、scomprisedmainlyofuniversitystudentsfromwell-knownschoolslikePekingUniversity.InJapan,the"intellectual"groupwasmainlymadeupofpreviousmembersofGenronNPO.     AmongordinaryChinesepolled,35.7percentsaidtheyhave"verygood"or"relativelygood"impressionsofJapan,a5.5-per

5、centage-pointincreasecomparedwithlastyear.45.2percentofChinesestudentshadapositiveimpressionofJapan,twopercentagepointsmorethanlastyear.Only26.6percentofJapanesehaveapositiveimpressionofChina,however.     Still,anoverwhelmingmajorityoftherespondentsfromeachcount
