3、remindsusofthesailorinPoe’sTheNarrativeofArthurGordonPymofNantucket,whoisavictimofcannibalism).Throughhisordealintheperilousseafor227days,Pilearnsthesur-vivalskillsoflivingandcopingwithahostileenemy.Helearnsthateventhoughthetigerisformidable,itironicallygiveshi
4、mthestrengthtohangon.Livingwiththethreateningtiger,Pirealizestheimportanceofbothspiritualityandpracticality.LifeofPiadoptsanarrativestructureoftwovoices:thevoiceofPiinaflashback,andthevoiceoftheauthorwhoisinterviewingPi.InLifeofPie,thetigercanbeasymbolof“others
