4、APHIDRHOPALOSIPHUMPADIABSTRACTThebirdcherry-oataphid,Rhopalosiphumpadi(L.)isanimportantpestofwheatwhichwidelydistributesintheworld.Itfeedsonsapinthephloemandtransmitsthelotofvirus,includingbarleyyellowdwarfvirus(BYDV).Differentchemicalcompoundsareusedtocontr
5、olthisaphid.R.padihasdevelopedresistancetovariousinsecticides.TheglutathioneS-transferases(GSTs)canprotectinsectagainstoxidativedamagecausedbyROS(reactiveoxygenspecies)andplayroleininsecticideresistanceofaphids.Sixsubclasses(Delta,Epsilon,Omega,Sigma,Thetaan
6、dZeta)ofGTSsarefoundininsects.MostofthepreviousinvestigationshavefocusedondeltaandepsilonGST.However,themolecularmechanismsofGSTsininsecticideresistanceofaphidsstillneedfurtherclarification.Here,wereporttheidentificationandclassificationofGSTgenesfromR.padi.
7、TherecombinantproteinsofsomeGSTgenswereexpressedinEscherichiacolicells.ThebiochemicalpropertiesofthepurifiedrecombinantGSTproteinswerecharacterized.Thetranscriptionalpatternsofsomegenesfollowingexposuretovariousconcentrationsofb-cypermethrin,isoprocarb,malat
8、hion,andsulfoxaflorwereanalyzed.ThepotentialrolesoftheGSTfusionproteinSinantioxidantdefensewerealsoinvestigated.OurresultsprovidevaluableinsightintothefunctionofGSTsinthestressresponsetoinsectic
