4、imization,Featurewarpage.INTRODUCTIONPlasticinjectionmoldingisawidelyused,com-plexbuthighlyefficienttechniqueforproducingalargevarietyofplasticproducts,particularlythosewithhighproductionrequirement,tighttolerance,andcomplexshapes.Thequalityofinjectio
5、nmoldedpartsisafunctionofplasticmaterial,partgeometry,moldstructureandprocessconditions.Themostimportantpartofaninjectionmoldbasicallyisthefollowingthreesetsofcomponents:cavities,gatesandrunners,andcoolingsystem.LamandSeow(2000)andJinandLam(2002)achie
6、vedcavitybalancingbyvaryingthewallthick-nessofthepart.Abalancefillingprocesswithinthecavitygivesanevenlydistributedpressureandtem-peraturewhichcandrasticallyreducethewarpageofthepart.Butthecavitybalancingisonlyoneoftheimportantinfluencingfactorsofpart
7、qualities.Espe-cially,theparthasitsfunctionalrequirements,anditsthicknessesshouldnotbevariedusually.Fromthepointviewoftheinjectionmolddesign,agateischaracterizedbyitssizeandlocation,andtherunnersystembythesizeandlayout.Thegatesizeandrunnerlayoutareusu
