3、tractAsequencingbatchreactorbiofilm(MSBR)systemwasmodifiedfromtheconventionalsequencingbatchreactor(SBR)systembyinstalling2.7m2surfaceareaofplasticmediaonthebottomofthereactortoincreasethesystemefficiencyandbio-sludgequalitybyincreasingthebio-sludgeinthesystem.TheCOD,BOD5,
4、totalkjeldahlnitrogen(TKN)andoil&greaseremovalefficienciesoftheMSBRsystem,underahighorganicloadingof1340gBOD5/m3d,were89.3G0.1,83.0G0.2,59.4G0.8,and82.4G0.4%,respectively,whiletheywereonly87.0G0.2,79.9G0.3,48.7G1.7and79.3G10%,respectively,intheconventionalSBRsystem.Theamou
5、ntofexcessbio-sludgeintheMSBRsystemwasabout3timeslowerthanthatintheconventionalSBRsystem.Thesludgevolumeindex(SVI)oftheMSBRsystemwaslowerthan100ml/gunderanorganicloadingofupto1340gBOD5/m3d.However,theMSBRunderanorganicloadingof680gBOD5/m3dgavethehighestCOD,BOD5,TKNandoil&g
