3、vailableonline21April2005AbstractAsequencingbatchreactorbiofilm(MSBR)systemwasmodifiedfromtheconventionalsequencingbatchreactor(SBR)systembyinstalling2.7m2surfaceareaofplasticmediaonthebottomofthereactortoincreasethesystemefficiencyandbio-sludgequalitybyincre
4、asingthebio-sludgeinthesystem.TheCOD,BOD5,totalkjeldahlnitrogen(TKN)andoil&greaseremovalefficienciesoftheMSBRsystem,underahighorganicloadingof1340gBOD5/m3d,were89.3G0.1,83.0G0.2,59.4G0.8,and82.4G0.4%,respectively,whiletheywereonly87.0G0.2,79.9G0.3,48.7G1.7and
5、79.3G10%,respectively,intheconventionalSBRsystem.Theamountofexcessbio-sludgeintheMSBRsystemwasabout3timeslowerthanthatintheconventionalSBRsystem.Thesludgevolumeindex(SVI)oftheMSBRsystemwaslowerthan100ml/gunderanorganicloadingofupto1340gBOD5/m3d.However,theMSB
