2、ocusesontheinfluenceparentshaveonthedevelopmentoftheirchildrenwhethertheyarebiological,adoptive,orguardianparents.Intermsoftheparentalroleindevelopment,thepaperexamineshowparentsinfluencetheemotional,moral,andsocialdevelopmentoftheirchildren.ParentalInfluence11Pare
3、ntalInfluenceontheDevelopmentofChildrenAtconception,thehumaneggandspermmeetandfuseintoazygote,theonecellbeginningofhumanlife.Immediatelyafterconception,thezygotebeginstheinfiniteamountofmitoticdivisionstoproduceanembryo,fetus,andeventuallyababy.Throughouteachphaseo
4、fgrowthanddevelopment,theDNAofthechilddirectlyinfluencesitsdevelopment.Thechild’sgenomewillbecomeitsmostdistinguishingfeature;itsDNAisdifferentfromeveryoneelse’sDNA.However,thechild’sgenomeisdirectlyinfluencedbythechromosomesthebiologicalparentsofthechildpassedinth
5、eireggandsperm.Inthissense,thechildwilldevelopbasedonthegenesitreceivedfromhisorherparents;thechild’sbodyshape,eyecolor,haircolor,complexion,andtemperamentaswellasnumerousothercharacteristicswillarisebasedonitsinheritedgenes.Therefore,itisevidentthatparentsdirectly
6、influencethedevelopmentoftheirchildinthegeneticsense.Oncethechildisborn,however,thechildentersintoanewenvironmentinwhichtheparentsarethesolemeansofsurvivalandinteractionwiththeworld.Asaresult,akeyquestionarises;towhatextentdoparentsinfluencethedevelopmentoftheirchi
7、ldbeyondgenetics?Howdotheenvironmentalinteractionswithparentsinfluencethedevelopmentofachild?Studiesshowthatparentsgreatlyinfluencethedevelopmentoftheirchildinallareas(Papaliaetal.,2002);however,parentalinfluenceondevelopmentismostnotableintheareasofpsychosocialdev
