3、theimportanceofsustainablemanufacturinghasbeenwidelydiscussed.Theoptimizationofenergyconsumptioninproductmanufacturehasbeendeeplyanalyzed,mainlyfocusingontheenergydirectlyabsorbedbythemanufacturingprocess.Onthecontrary,thispaperfocusesontheanalysisandoptimizationoftheen
4、ergyconsumptionrelatedtoauxiliaryroboticassemblyprocesses,contributingtotheidentificationofsustainablemanufacturingstrategiesforpickandplacerobots.Itproposesamethodologyfortheautomaticgenerationofrobottrajectoriesandthesequencingoftherobottask,whileminimizingtheenergyco
5、nsumption.Aprobabilisticroadmapiscreatedtoidentifyacollision-freeandminimumenergyconsumptiontrajectoryforeachcoupleoffeasibletasks.Trajectorypowerconsumptionisevaluatedexploitingdynamicinformationcomingfromtherealrobotmotionplannerusingamodelthattakesintoaccounttheenerg
6、ybehaviorofmotorsanddrivesandtheiroperativeconditions.Asetofgeneratedtrajectoriesisselected,definingthetasksequenceandminimizingtherobotcycletime.Thedifferencesbetweentheresultsderivingbyemploymentoftheenergyconsumptionminimizationcriterionversustimeminimizationcriterio
