3、rally,externallyoverleftcheekandleftpost-auricularregion.Onevaluation,theconditionwasfoundtobechronicpyogenicosteomyelitisinvolvingmaxilla,zygomaandtemporalbonesandodontogenicinorigin.AIM:Wehavedecidedtoreportthisinterestingcasebecauseofitsextensiveinvolv
4、ementofmultiplecranialbonesinthisantibioticeraandcompleteresolutionofinfectionwasgainedwithantibiotictherapyandsurgicaltreatment.KEYWORDS:Osteomyelitis,Maxilla,Zygoma,Temporalbone.INTRODUCTION:Osteomyelitiscanbedefinedasaninflammatoryconditionofthebone,wh
5、ichbeginsasaninfectionofthemedullarycavity,rapidlyinvolvesthehaversiansystems,andextendstoinvolvetheperiosteumoftheaffectedarea.Infectionoccursasaresultofabacteremia,aninoculationduringasepticsurgeryorbonesurgeryoracontiguousinfectiousfocus.Conditionsalte
6、ringthevascularityofthebonesuchasradiation,malignancy,osteoporosis,osteopetrosis,andpaget’sdiseasepredisposetoosteomyelitis.1,2Systemicdiseaseslikediabetes,anemiaandmalnutritionthatcauseconcomitantalterationinhostdefensesprofoundlyinfluencethecourseofoste
7、omyelitis.1,2Dealingwithosteomyelitisinheadandneckbonesisnotthesameasinotherbonesofthebodyduetothenatureofthebones,complexanatomyoftheregion,andaesthetics.3Treatmentcanbeconservativeresectionofthediseasedbonewithadequateclearanceinallcasesalongwithappropr
8、iateantibiotictherapy.Thegenerallackofawarenessoftheprevalenceofthediseaseanditsfeaturesoftenleadstoamisdiagnosisanddelayintreatment.Earlydetectionofthisconditionandpromptattentionwillpreventtheneedforasurgicalinter
