1、HartandRushmoorYouthProvisionConsultationProjectWelcometothefirstyouthconsultationdevelopedbytheYouthSupportServiceinconjunctionwiththeLocalChildren’sPartnershipsofHartandRushmoor.“InHampshire,allchildrenandyoungpeoplehavetheopportunitytoparticipateindecisionswhichaffecttheir
2、lives.Theywillhaveaccesstotheservicetheyneed,whentheyneedthemandshapehowtheseservicesareplannedanddelivered”(Hampshire’sChildrenandYoungPeople’sPlan2012–15)Inresponsetothisdirective,atalocallevel,theYouthSupportServicetogetherwiththelocalLCPsinstigatedthisyouthconsultationeng
3、agingyoungpeopletoexpresstheirviewstohelpinformdecisionmakersaboutlocalprioritiesforyouthprovision.Aspartofthisfactfinding,needsassessment,youngpeoplehavealsoparticipatedintheHampshireCountyYouthConferences.Theaimofthisconsultationprojectistohelpinformdecisionmakersaboutlocal
4、prioritiesforyouthprovision.TheaimsoftheConsultationProjectwereprimarily:·ToformlinksandimprovecommunicationwithyoungpeoplelivinginHartandRushmoor.·Togiveyoungpeopleavoiceinthefutureplanningofyouthprovisionintheircommunity.·Toengageyoungpeopleinthescrutinyandqualityassurancep
5、rocessoftheyouthservicesprovided.InpartnershipwithHCCParticipationteam,thelocalCommunityDevelopmentFacilitatorsliaisedwithlocalschools,colleges,localcouncils,andvoluntarygroupstoengageover900youngpeopleinaninformationgatheringexercise.Thisworkwasadministered,primarily,through
6、schools,whereworkshopswerefacilitatedbyyouthworkersandpartneragenciestoengageyoungpeopleinthoughtprovokingexercisesexploringthelocalissuesaroundthemandtheimpactthishasonthelivesofothers.Anumberofdifferentengagementtoolswereusedtoencouragetheyoungpeopletoparticipate.Allschools
7、involvedwerehighlysupportiveandencouragingoftheprocessanditsaims.Subjectscoveredintheworkshopsincluded;Debt,Teenagepregnancy,Alcohol,Drugs,Smoking,SexualHealth,Jobs/Careers,Homelessness,40MentalHealth,ASB/fearofcrime,Socialdifference,andSocialinteraction.Othersubjectswerecove
