1、GageR&RAnalysis–AnalysisofRepeatabilityandReproducibilityThisisatechniquetomeasuretheprecisionofgagesandothermeasurementsystems.Thenameofthistechniqueoriginatedfromtheoperationofagagebydifferentoperatorsformeasuringacollectionofparts.Theprecisionofthemeasurement

2、susingthisgageinvolvesatleasttwomajorcomponents:thesystematicdifferenceamongoperatorsandthedifferencesamongparts.TheGageR&Ranalysisisatechniquetoquantifyeachcomponentofthevariationsothatwewillbeabletodeterminewhatproportionofvariabilityisduetooperators,andwhatis

3、duetotheparts.AtypicalgageR&Rstudyisconductedasthefollowing:Aqualitycharacteristicofanobjectofinterest(couldbeparts,oranywelldefinedexperimentalunitsforthestudy)isselectedforthestudy.Agageoracertaininstrumentischosenasthemeasuringdevice.Joperatorsarerandomlysele

4、cted.Ipartsarerandomlychosenandpreparedforthestudy.EachoftheJoperatorsisaskedtomeasurethecharacteristicofeachoftheIpartsforrtimes(repeatedlymeasurethesamepartrtimes).ThevariationamongthemreplicationsofthegivenpartsmeasuredbythesameoperationistheRepeatabilityofth

5、egage.ThevariabilityamongoperatorsistheReproducibility.Gagerepeatabilityandreproducibilitystudiesdeterminehowmuchofyourobservedprocessvariationisduetomeasurementsystemvariation.Theoverallvariationisbrokendownintothreecategories:part-to-part,repeatability,andrepr
