3、deteriorationofthemechanicalpropertiesofyieldstrengthandmodulusofelasticityisconsideredastheprimaryelementaffectingtheperformanceof29steelstructuresunderfire.Inthisstudy,hot-rolledS220andS420reinforcementsteelrebarsweresubjectedtohightemperaturestoinvestigatethefireperformanceofthesematerials.Itisai
4、medtodeterminetheremainingmechanicalpropertiesofsteelrebarsafterelevatedtemperatures.Steelsweresubjectedto20,100,200,300,500,800,and950∘Ctemperaturesfor3hoursandtensiletestswerecarriedout.EffectoftemperatureonmechanicalbehaviorofS220andS420weredetermined.Allmechanicalpropertieswerereducedduetothetem
5、peratureincreaseofthesteelrebars.ItisseenthatmechanicalpropertiesofS420steelwasinfluencedmorethanS220steelatelevatedtemperatures.1.IntroductionFireremainsoneoftheseriouspotentialriskstomostbuildingsandstructures.Sinceconcreteiswidelyusedinconstruction,researchonfireresistanceofconcretebecomesmoreand
6、moreimportant.Manyresearchersallovertheworldhavedonesomeresearchesonthissubject.Themechanicalpropertiesofallcommonbuildingmaterialsdecreasewithelevationoftemperature.Thebehaviorofareinforcedconcretestructureinfireconditionsisgovernedbythepropertiesoftheconstituentmaterials,concrete,andsteel,athighte
7、mperature.Bothconcreteandsteelundergoconsiderablechangeintheirstrength,physicalproperties,andstiffnessbytheeffectsofheating,andsomeofthesechangesarenotrecoverableaftersubsequentcooling[1].29Itisnecess
