1、SweetBriarCollegeRidingProgramBox6,SweetBriar,Virginia24595AgreementforBoardingHorsesatSweetBriarCollege2012-2013ThemainfunctionoftheRidingProgramistoservethestudentsofSweetBriarCollege(“SBC”)byprovidinganactiveteachingprogramwithvariedridingactivitiesthat

2、offerlearningexperiencesandgoodsport.Theentireprogramisorientedtowardtheridingandschoolingofhunter/jumperandequitationtypehorsesforshowing,field-ridingcompetitions,andotheractivities.Theboardingofprivatehorseswhoseridersparticipateintheprogramisasmallerpar

3、tofthewholeprogram.ELIGIBILITYUnderthefollowingconditions,theRidingProgramofSweetBriarCollege(the“RidingProgram”)givesstudentstheopportunitytohaveprivatelyownedhorsesattheCollege:Thehorsemustbeappropriatelysuitedtotherider’sabilityandtoachievingtherider’sg

4、oalswithintheframeworkoftheRidingProgram.MostoftheridingatSBCrequiresahorseschooledtogosafely,cooperatively,andobedientlyinagroup/classsettingbothintheringandinthefield.Mostridersshouldhaveexperiencedandschooledhorsesinordertoimprovetheirridingthroughinstr

5、uctionaswellastogaineducationalandenjoyableexperiencesinoneofseveralareas,i.e.showinghunters,equitation,jumpers,fieldriding,orhackingoutonourmilesoftrails.StudentswhoboardatSBCareNOTeligibleforcollege-fundedneed-basedaid,butarestilleligibleforanyfederalnee

6、d-basedaidandSweetBriarmeritscholarshipsforwhichtheymightqualify.PreferenceforspaceatthestablewillbegivenfirsttoqualifiedupperclassmencurrentlyinvolvedintheridingprogramandthentoqualifiedstudentswhoexpecttohavetheirhorsesatSBCforthefullcollegeyear.Afirstye

7、arstudentmustcompleteaboardingapplicationwithavideoofherselfandherhorseinperformancefromalesson,clinic,orcompetition.Allapplicationsandvideoswillbereviewedintheorderreceivedandwewillrespondwithinamonthofthedatewereceivethecompletedapplicationandvideo.TheDi
