4、Christ.Amongotherthings,itisareminderthatitisthestoryofafamily;butofafamilyinverydistressedcircumstances.MaryandJosephfoundnoroomattheinn;theyhadtomakedoinastable,andthenew-bornJesushadtobelaidinamanger.Thiswasafamilywhichhadbeenshutout.'Onehumanfamily'Perhapsitwasbecauseofth
5、isearlyexperiencethat,throughouthisministry,JesusofNazarethreachedoutandmadefriendswithpeoplewhomothersignoredordespised.Itwasinthiswaythatheproclaimedhisbeliefthat,intheend,weareallbrothersandsistersinonehumanfamily.TheChristmasstoryalsodrawsattentiontoallthosepeoplewhoareon
6、theedgeofsociety-peoplewhofeelcutoffanddisadvantaged;peoplewho,foronereasonoranother,arenotabletoenjoythefullbenefitsoflivinginacivilisedandlaw-abidingcommunity.AllthegreatreligiousteachingsoftheworldpresshomethemessagethateveryonehasaresponsibilitytocareforthevulnerableForth
