3、platformtoolsets.·Buildtheirownmultiple-platformlayerandsupportit.Today,however,anewchoiceexists.DeveloperscanusetheirexistingcodewrittentotheWindowsAPIand,usingtoolsavailablefromMicrosoftandthirdparties,recompileforalloftheplatformslistedabove.Thispaperlooksatthemethodsandsomeofth
4、eissuesinvolvedindoingso.Currentlythemostlucrativemarketforgraphicaluserinterface(GUI)applications,afterMicrosoftWindows,istheAppleMacintosh.However,vastdifferencesseparatethesewhollydifferentoperatingsystems,requiringdeveloperstolearnnewAPIs,programmingparadigms,andtools.Generally
5、,MacintoshdevelopmentrequiresaseparatecodebasefromtheWindowssources,increasingthecomplexityofmaintenanceandenhancement.BecauseportingcodefromWindowstotheMacintoshcanbethemostdifficultportingcase,thispaperconcentratesinthisarea.Ingeneral,ifyourcodebaseissufficientlyportabletoenables
