3、,1,2-bis[2-methyl-5-(3-fluorophenyl)-3-thienyl]perfluorocylcopentene(1a),wassynthesized.ThecompoundshowedgoodphotochromicreactionsbothinsolutionandinPMMAmatrixbyphoto-irradiation.Usingthediarylethene1b/PMMAfilmasrecordingmediumandaHe–Nelaserforrecordingandreadout,fo
4、urtypesofpolarizationholographicopticalrecordingwereaccomplishedforthefirsttime.Theresultsshowthattheorthogonalcircularpolarizationrecordingisthebestmethodforholographicopticalrecordingwhenthetargetphotochromicdiaryletheneisusedasrecordingmaterial.©2006PublishedbyEl
