3、omericcompoundsshowdistinctlydifferentphotochromism,bothinsolutionandinthesingle-crystallinephase:oneturnsreduponphotocyclizationwhereastheotherturnsblue,whichmaybeattributedtothedifferentsubstituenteffects.Photochromicdiarylethenederivativeshaveattractedmuchbenz
4、ofuran,6indene,7pyrazole,8etc.Themajorityoftheattentionashighlypromisingcandidatesforoptoelectronicresearchworkreportedtodatehasbeendevotedtothedevicessuchasopticalmemoriesandphotoswitches,mainlydevelopmentofthesemoleculesandinvestigativestudiesofduetotheexcellen
5、tthermalstabilityoftherespectivetheirfundamentalproperties,andtheresultsobtainedhaveisomers,notablefatigueresistance,andhighreactivityinthecontributedtoabroadunderstandingofthephotochromismsolidstate.1Recently,thedesignandsynthesisofnovelofdiarylethenes.9Atthesam
6、etime,theresultshavealsodiarylethenesystemswithdifferentarylmoietieshasbecomedemonstratedthatthephotochromicperformanceofeachtypeanactiveareaofresearch.Amongthediaryletheneshithertoofdiaryletheneisstronglydependentonthenatureofthereported,mostoftheheteroarylmoiet
7、ieshavebeenthiophenearylgroups.Forinstance,diaryletheneswiththiopheneororbenzothiophenerings,2withjustafewreportsconcerningbenzothiophenemoietiesexhibitexcellentthermalstabilityotherheteroarylmoieties,suchasfuran,3thiazole,4indole,5andoutstandingfatigueresistance
