3、ientscanbedoneatonlythedetailwaveletdecompositionsubbands.Wekeepafewlowfrequencywaveletsubbandsuntouchedsothattheyarenotthresholded.ItiswellknownthatDonoho'smethodofferstheadvantagesofsmoothnessandadaptation.However,asCoifmanandDonohopointedout,thisalgorithmexhibitsvisualartifacts:Gibbsp
4、henomenaintheneighbourhoodofdiscontinuities.Therefore,theyproposeinatranslationinvariant(TI)denoisingschemetosuppresssuchartifactsbyaveragingoverthedenoisedsignalsofallcircularshifts.TheexperimentalresultsinconfirmthatsingleTIwaveletdenoisingperformsbetterthanthenon-TIcase.BuiandChenexte
5、ndedthisTIschemetothemultiwaveletcaseandtheyfoundthatTImultiwaveletdenoisinggavebetterresultsthanTIsinglewaveletdenoising.CaiandSilvermanproposedathresholdingschemebytakingtheneighbourcoeficientsintoaccountTheirexperimentalresultsshowedapparentadvantagesoverthetraditionalterm-by-termwave
6、letdenoising.ChenandBuiextendedthisneighbouringwaveletthresholdingideatothemultiwaveletcase.Theyclaimedthatneighbourmultiwaveletdenoisingoutperformsneighboursinglewaveletdenoisingforsomestandardtestsignalsandreal-lifeimages.Chenetal.proposedanimagedenoisingschemebyconsideringasquareneigh
