3、inesandstandardsemphasizethesystemsofsystems.Deepunderstandingofthemissionneedforintegratingboththeseprocesses[3].Recently,requirements,accuratesystemmodellingandeffectivetheEuropeanSpaceAgency(ESA)andNationalcommunicationbetweensystems,systemsofsystemsAeronauticsandSpaceAdministration(NASA
4、)haveandtheoutsideworldarecriticaltothesuccessofthesetriedtostandardisespaceengineeringprocessesinmissions.Thispaperpresentsathoroughreviewofpastcollaborationwithspaceindustries.TheEuropeanandcurrentsystemengineeringpracticesandhighlightsCooperationforSpaceStandardization(ECSS)isatheimporta
5、nceofModelBasedSystemEngineeringresultofsucheffortbyESAandEuropeanspace(MBSE),wheremodelisacentralartifact.Thispaperindustries[4].presentsearlyworkontheimplementationofSystemsModellingLanguage(SysML)formodellingmultimodalsensorsystem,whichispartoftheprojectINVERITASforsatelliteservicingappl
6、ication.ThispaperalsoputforwardsSysMLbasedsystemengineeringprofilestructure.Themodularpackagestructurewouldprovideexcellentportabilityandwillhelptocreateknowledgebaseforfutureprojects.1INTRODUCTIONSystemsengineering(SE)involvesdefiningandimplementinganapproachtosolvingproblems,whilemanaging
7、complexityandcommunicatingeffectivelyovertheentirelifetimeofaproject[1].Itisaninterdisciplinaryfieldofengineering.Systemcomplexity,communicationfailureandlackofunderstandingaretreatedasthe‘threeevilsofsystemsFigure1Heritageofsystemengineeringstandards[5]
