4、asbeenlimiteduptonowtoonlyforrepresentingandprocessinginformation.Herewesimulatetheoneortwofeatures(ODand/orOR)inadditiontoVF.Thiscombineddevelopmentofallthesemapsystemsusingacomputa-naturallyraisesthreequestions:(i)cansuchmodelsstilltionalmodel,theelasticnet.Weshowthatthismodelrobustlysuccessfu
5、llyreproducemapstructurewhenmultiplefeaturesproducescombinedmapsofthesefourvariablesthatbearacloseareconsidered;(ii)whatquantitativepredictionsdotheseresemblancetoexperimentalmaps.Inadditionweshowthatthemodelsmakeinthiscase;and(iii)whatlightdoesthebehaviorexperimentallyobservedeffectsofmonocular
6、deprivationandofmodelsinthiscaseshedonthebiologicalmechanismssingle-orientationrearingcanbereproducedinthismodel,andunderlyingmapformation.Inthispaperweaddressthesewemakesometestablepredictions.TheseresultsprovidestrongquestionsbysimulatingthecombineddevelopmentofVF,OD,supportforthehypothesistha
