2、thestaycables.Thispaperdescribesanovelsolutiontothisproblem,theunitforcemethod.Themethodtakesintoaccountallrelevanteffectsforthedesignofcable-stayedbridges,includingconstructionsequence,second-ordertheory,largedisplacements,cablesagandtime-dependenteffects,suchascreepandsh

3、rinkageorrelaxationofprestressingtendons.Informationabouttheimplementationofthismethodintoacomputerprogramisgiven,andanexampleofapracticalapplicationofthismethodconcludesthispaper.Themethodisnotrestrictedtothedesignofcable-stayedbridgesandmaywellbeusedforotherstructuralapp
