3、heautomaticoperationandcontrolofawindenergyconversionandbatterystoragesystem.Thesupervisoryhybridcontrolschemeisbasedonaradicallydifferentapproachofmodelingandcontroldesign,proposedforthesubjectwindenergyconversionandbatterystoragesystem.Thewindenergyconversio
4、nunitiscomposedofa360kWhorizontalaxiswindturbinemechanicallycoupledtoaninductiongeneratorthroughagearbox.Theassemblyiselectricallyinterfacedtothedcbusthroughathyristor-controlledrectifiertoenablevariablespeedoperationoftheunit.Staticcapacitorbankshavebeenusedt
5、omeetreactivepowerrequirementsoftheunit.Abatterystoragedeviceisconnectedtothedcbusthroughadc-dcconvertertosupportoperationofthewindenergyconversionunitduringislandedconditions.Islandingisassumedtooccurwhenthetiebreakertotheutilityfeederisinopenposition.Thewind
6、energyconversionunitandbatterystoragesystemisinterfacedtotheutilitygridatthepointofcommoncouplingthrougha25kmlong,13.8kVfeederusingavoltage-sourcedconverterunit.Abankofstatic(constantimpedance)anddynamic(inductionmotor)loadsisconnectedtothepointofcommoncouplin
7、gthroughastepdowntransformer.Afinitehybrid-automatabasedmodelofthewindenergyconversionandstoragesystemhasbeenproposedthatcapturesthedifferentoperatingregimesofthesystemduringgrid-connectedandinislandedoperatingmodes.Thehybridmodelofthesubjectsystemdefinesallow
