2、ptype,low-resistanceandhighreliabilityarebecomingthemaintendencyoftheBaTi03-basedpositivetemperaturecoefficientresistance(PTCR).Aselectroniccomponents,thesurfaceofceramic—basedthermistorshavetobecoatedwithalayerofmetal.Therearemanywaysofformingaceramic—basedelectrode,includingsilver-layercoating,
3、electrolessNi—platingandAl/Agpastescoating.Sofar,themethodswementionedaboveinthespecificationsarehighforceramicthermistorproduction.However,anewmethodoffabrication·aCu-layeronthesurfaces.ofBaTi03-basedchipresistorisputforwardinthispaper,whichiscalledtheregionalelectrolessCu-plating.Furthermore,th
4、eperformanceofthecoatingswereinvestigated.Themajorfindingsare:adhesionforcebetweenelectrodeandthesubstance,resistance,tensileresistance,thevoltage-withstanding,moisture—resistance,solderability,andSOfonh,allmeetthedemandsoftheindustry.Boththecharactersticsofthesubstratesurfacewithoutcoatedwithpas
5、tesandthatofthesubstratewithCu—platingarestudiedbymeansofX-rayDiffraction.AlsotheprocessofformingallelectrodeistestedbymeansofAtomicForceMicroscope(AFM).Theproductioncostofthetechnologyweinventedandusedforthepreparationofohmiccontactresistanceismerely25%ofthatproducedinatraditionalway.Inthefieldo
6、fpreparationofelectroniccomponents,thismethodoffabricationcompositeelectrodeonthesurfaceoftheceramicsbulkhasbeenwidelyappliedintheproductionofPTCRthermistors.Also,practicalmethodswerepropoffedinthispapertodetecttheconcentrationofformaldehydeandcopperionofthebath.KEYWORDS:ceramicthermistor;regiona
