2、ectioncrackstosomeextent,butwiththerapidgrowthoftrafficloadandtirepressure,theruttingproblemhasbecometheprimaryissueofthickasphaltlayeronceagain.Aimingattheseproblems,aseriesofstudiesindomesticandforeignshowthatthelargestoneasphaltmixes(LSAM)hasthebetterreflectioncracksandruttingresistan
3、ceatthesametime,thatis,itwillsolvetheproblemsaboveeffectively.LSAMasakindofskeleton-closedtypeasphaltmixe,ithastheadvantagesofgreaterfrictionforceandinteractionforce,betterframeworkstabilitywhichrelativestothetraditionalasphaltmixes.InviewoftheseperformancesofLSAM,themethodofcubagedesign
4、basedontheuniformdesignexperimentsisusedindesigningitstargetproportioning.AccordingtotheLSAMdesignedabove,someperformanceexperimentsarepreceded.Thentheexperimentalresultsareasfollows:LSAMhasthebetterruttingresistancethanthecommonasphaltmixes;LSAMpossessesthebettercapacityofmoistureresist
5、ancedamagebecauseofitssqueezed-densestructure;comparedwiththesemi-rigidbasematerial,LSAMaveragetensilestrengthisincreasedby52.7%.ThearticlecalculatesthestressesofpavementswhichlayflexiblebasesoflargestoneasphaltmixesandtraditionalonesbyacalculationoffiniteelementprocedureANSYS.Theresults
6、ofcalculationindicatethattheformeronesaremoreeffectiveinpreventionofreflectioncrack.Becauseofthegreatervolumeofcoarseaggregateandthelargermaximumnominalparticle-size,theLSAM-30thermalconductivityisgreaterandthetemperatureshrinkgecoefficientisloweraswellasthemodulusofresilience,soitcouldr
7、educethetemperaturegradientamongthestructurelayerseffectively,andthenminishthethermalstress.Atthesametime,theadequateflexibilityperformancemayalsoabsorbthestrainenergyatthecrackofthesemi-rigidsub-basewell.Soitpossessesthebetterreflectioncrackresistance.WiththeLSAMisusedas
