4、everitbe,asmybestinstruction.INTRODUCTION.Nothingismoreusualandmorenaturalforthose,whopretendtodiscoveranythingnewtotheworldinphilosophyandthesciences,thantoinsinuatethepraisesoftheirownsystems,bydecryingallthose,whichhavebeenadvancedbeforethem.Andindeedweretheyconte

5、ntwithlamentingthatignorance,whichwestilllieunderinthemostimportantquestions,thatcancomebeforethetribunalofhumanreason,therearefew,whohaveanacquaintancewiththesciences,thatwouldnotreadilyagreewiththem.'Tiseasyforoneofjudgmentandlearning,toperceivetheweakfoundationeve
