4、ectsuchPositionsasareinstructiveaswellasamusing;accordingly,thereaderwillobserve,thattherearemanyinwhichtheWhite,thoughunabletocheckmateinagivennumberofmoves,canyetacquiresuchasuperiorityastohaveawinninggame.Suchpositionsaregenerallythemostimprov-ing.Amongthoseinwhichthenumberofmovesisfix
5、ed,willbefoundmanyinwhichastheWhiteisnotexposedtoanimmediatecheck-mate,itbynomeansfollowsthathemustgivecheckeverymove:suchpositionsaremoredifficultthanthoseinwhichfromthesituationofthepiecesitisevidenttheBlackmustbecheckedeverymove.IdeferforthepresentpublishingtheSolutions,thatthereaderma
