3、.TheactuatorisasandwichstructurecomposedActuatoroftrusscoresandsmartface-sheetsinwhichoverallbendingmayoccurwhenactuated.LightweightThedeformationofthisbeamactuatorisgeneratedbyvaryingthevoltageappliedatActuatingcapabilityOptimaldesigntheface-sheetsmad
4、eupofsmartmaterial.Thebasicmechanicalproperties,suchastheeffectivemoduliofthestructure,arediscussed,andthenoptimizationisdesignedtoobtaintheminimumweightormaximumachievabledisplacementsubjectedtotwotypesofconstraints.Analysisindicatesthatthecompositetr
5、usseshavehigherstiffnessandstrengththanthemetal-trussesstructurewiththesamedensity.Therelationshipbetweentheactuatingcapabilityandgeometricparametersisalsoinvestigatedbynumericalsimulations.Comparedwithtwocorrugated-coreactuators,thetruss-coreactuatorh

8、uralweightscanbesignificantlyreducedbytheuseofsmartmaterialsandstructuresinthecasethatmultifunctionalcharactersbesidesloadbearingcapabilityareneeded,suchaspowerprovision,executingsensingandmacroscopicshapecontrollability.Suchmultifuncti
