3、ssionregardingcorporatesocialresponsibility(CSR)hasprimarilyaddressedorganizationalrationaleandactivities.LittlehasbeensaidabouttheindividualcharacteristicsandbehaviorsthatpromotethedevelopmentofCSRwithinorganizations.Inthispaper,weproposeandtestamodeltoexplainindivid
4、ualdifferencesinthepropensitytoengageinsociallyresponsiblebehavior(SRB).Bylinkingvalues,affectandreasoningtomanagers’propensityto‘dogood’and‘donoharm,’weprovideamorecompletepictureofhowSRBarisesinorganizations.Asurveyof643middlemanagersinfivemultinationalcorporationss
5、upportsourcontentionthatvalues,affectandreasoningmatterforSRB.Inparticular,self-transcendencevalues(universalismandbenevolence)andpositiveaffectincreasethepropensitytoengageinSRB,asdomoralandreputation-basedreasoningstyles.Moreover,wefindthatvaluesandaffectshapemoreco
