3、arioThissimulationfocusesontheclinicalassessmentandinitialmanagementofablasttraumavictimbyateamofhealthcareprovidersinthesettingofasmall,communityhospitalemergencydepartmentwithlimitedresources.Thepatienthassustainedmultipleinjuriesfromblunt,penetrating,andbarotraumaforces.Thenumberandcomplexityo

4、ftheinjuriescanbemodified,butthescenariopresentedistheadvancedversion.Theparticipantsmustinteractwithparamedics,ahospitaladministrator,anEMSagency,andatraumasurgeonatahigherlevelfacility.Radiationandchemicalcontaminationarenotpresent,buttheyshouldbeconsidered.Theparticipantsmustadequatelystabiliz

5、ethepatientpriortotransfertoaLevel1traumacenter,butwithoutunnecessarydelays.b.Number&rolesofparticipantsIdealteamcompositionis:1-2physicians;1respiratorytherapist;1-2nurses(3-5participants.)Theminimumnumberofparticipantsis3.Actorscanplaysomeoftherolesasneeded.Participantroles,inorderofpriority,mi

6、ghtinclude:1)treatingphysician/teamleader;2)nurse;3)respiratorytherapist;4)secondnurseorscribe;5)assistingphysicianorsurgeon.Theassistingnurseortechnicianplayedbyanactorwouldmodifytheamountofhelpprovided,dependingonthenumberofparticipantteammembers.c.Number&rolesofactorsOnephysicianisneededtocond
