2、011AbstractInthispaper,numericalsolutionstoassesspartiallyplasticandfullyplasticdeformationbehaviorofafunctionallygradedsphericalpressurevesselarepresented.Themodulusofelasticityofthematerialisassumedtovarynonlinearlyintheradialdirectionandaxisymmetricdisplacementsandstressesinthefunc-tiona
3、llygradedsphericalvesselsubjectedtothermalloadinganduniforminternalpressurearedeterminedusingplasticitytheory.TrescasyieldcriterionanditsassociatedflowruleareusedtoformulatedifferentplasticregionsforanidealFGmaterial.Inthisway,thematerialpropertyvariesbyYoungsmodulusthatmaybeanarbitraryfunct
4、ionoftheradialcoordinate.Therefore,thematerialisassumedtobefunctionallygradedintheradialdirection.Hence,thegeneralanalyticalsolutionsofsuchequationsarenotavailable,thenumericalmethod(semi-analytical)isappliedandanewcollectionofequilibriumequationswithsmalldeflectionsispresented.Accordingly,t
5、heradialdomainisdividedintosomevirtualsub-domainsinwhichthepower-lawdistributionisusedforthethermomechanicalpropertiesoftheelementalcomponents.Byconsideringthenec-essarycontinuityconditionsbetweenadjacentsub-domains,jointlywiththeglobalboundaryconditions,asetoflineardifferentialequationsiso
