2、roachesofoptimizingthemoldcoolingcircuithavebeenproposedpreviously.Inthiswork,optimizationofthemoldcoolingcircuitwasautomatedbyacommercialprocessintegrationanddesignoptimizationtoolcalledProcessIntegration,AutomationandOptimization(PIAnO),whichisoftenusedforlargea
3、utomotivepartssuchasbumpersandinstrumentpanels.Thecoolingchannelsandbaffletubeswerelocatedontheoffsetprofileequidistantfromthepartsurface.Thelocationsofthecoolingchannelsandthebaffletubeswereautomaticallygeneratedandinputintothemoldcoolingcomputer-aidedengineering
4、program,AutodeskMoldflowInsight2010.Theobjectivefunctionwasthedeviationofthemoldsurfacetemperaturefromagivendesigntemperature.Designvariablesintheoptimizationwerethedepths,distancesanddiametersofthecoolingchannelsandthebaffletubes.Foramorepracticalanalysis,thepres
5、suredropandtemperaturedropwereconsideredthelimitedvalues.Optimizationwasperformedusingtheprogressivequadraticresponsesurfacemethod.Theoptimizationresultedinamoreuniformtemperaturedistributionwhencomparedtotheinitialdesign,andutilizingtheproposedoptimizationmethod,
