3、tionmoldingprocess・Inaddition,numericalsimulationtechniqueshavenowbecomehelpfilltoolsofmolddesignersandprocessengineersfortraditionalinjectionmolding.Butallcurrentsimulationpackagesforconventionalinjectionmoldingarenolongerapplicabletothisnewtypeofinjectionmolds,mainl

4、ybecausethepropertyofthemoldmaterialchangesgreatly.Inthispaper,anintegratedapproachtoaccomplishanumericalsimulationofinjectionmoldingintorapid-prototypedmoldsisestablishedandacorrespondingsimulationsystemisdeveloped.Comparisonswithexperimentalresultsareemployedforveri

5、fication,whichshowthatthepresentschemeiswellsuitedtohandleRPfabricatedstereolithography(SL)molds.KeywordsInjectionmoldingNumericalsimulationRapidprototypingIntroductionIninjectionmolding,thepolymermeltathightemperatureisinjectedintothemoldunderhighpressure[1].Thus,the

6、moldmaterialneedstohavethermalandmechanicalpropertiescapableofwithstandingthetemperaturesandpressuresofthemoldingcycle・Thefocusofmanystudieshasbeentocreatetheinjectionmolddirectlybyarapidprototyping(RP)process.Byeliminatingmultiplesteps,thismethodoftoolingholdsthebest
