3、ralia,thegovernmentgivesthemeaningofmentalhealthas‘theabilityofindividualsandgroupstointeracttheirenvironmentinwaysthatpromotethesubjectivewellbeing,optimumdevelopmentandtheuseofrelational,cognitiveandaffectivementalabilities;andachievingpersonalandcollectivegoalsconformstothejustice(Depa
4、rtmentofHealthandAging2000).Andthereiscloselinkbetweenstigmaandhealth.Inthisessay,thefollowingtopicswillbediscussed:thesourceofstigma,theadvantageanddisadvantageeffectsofstigmaforpeoplewhoexperiencementalhealthproblems,howtodealwiththeconsequencesofadverseeffects.ThesourceofstigmaStigmaor
5、iginatesfromthedifferentaspects.Somepeoplewhoareverycompetitive,thestigmawillbeeasilygeneratedwhentheyencounteredsetbacksinlife,someotherpeoplesufferfromsomesortofshamefuldiseasewhichwasthoughtashumiliation,suchassexuallytransmitteddiseases,whichcanalsoleadtostigma(Cadwell,S.1991).What’sm
6、ore,anumberofpeoplelivingwiththosewhowerebetterthanthemselves,oncebeingcompared,thesenseofstigmawouldcomeoutsoon.Somepatientssaidthatbecausetheyarefromruralareas,andthebiggapbetweentherichandthepoor,justlikeapparel,educationanddeeds,induceasenseofstigma.Sometimes,fatisalsobecometheorigino
