3、dtotheimportanceofLearner’saffectivefactorsindeterminingthequalityoflearning.Positiveemotionscanhelplanguagelearningandmakeiteasier,whilenegativefeelingswillinhibitprogressoflearners.GasserandWaldman(1998)proposethatiflearningcanbemadeenjoyable,thestudentswilllearnmore.Amongtheaffectivefactors,anxi

4、etyandmotivationaretwoimportantonesuponwhichsongsmayhaveadirectandgreatinfluence.Itisgenerallyagreedthattoomuchanxietyblockslanguagelearning.Thereareseveralsourcesofanxiety,butatleastoneofthemisassociatedwithclassroomatmosphere.MostChinesestudentsfeelalittlenervousinlisteningclasses.Teachersneedtof

5、indaneffectivewaytorelaxstudentsintheirclasses.Hill(1975)suggeststhatenjoymentcanbeapositivefactorinovercominganxiety.Sowecaninferthatinordertorelaxstudents,theteachersmayneedtomaketheteachingandlearningactivitiesinterestingandenjoyable.Itiswidelyacceptedthatmotivationisveryimportantininfluencingth

6、elearners'successorfailureinlearningthelanguage.Motivation,saysJeremyHarmer(19840,issomekindofinternaldrivethatencouragesomebodytopursueacountofaction.Ifweperceiveagoalandthatgoalissufficientlyattractive,wewillbestronglymotivatedtodowhateverisnecessarytoreachthatgoal.Ellis(1988)considersthatmotivat
