4、ypeofcommunication,mostpreferrednaldatabaseofIndianplants,environmentalawareness,journals,highlycitedpapers,authorshippatternandtechnicalandconsultancyservicesinplantidentification,mostproductiveauthors.Thestudyanalyses40yearsnomenclatureanddistribution.(1971–201
5、0)ofpublicationdatadrawnfromWebofThepublic-fundedresearchneedstobemeasuredScience(SCI-Expanded).Atotalof423paperswerebecause:(i)resourcesarelimitedandpublicfundshouldpublishedin40years(10.57papersperyear),whichbeallocatedproperly;(ii)expenditureonresearchisreceiv
6、ed892citationswithanaverageof2.1citationsgrowingcontinuously;(iii)inputsarerequiredforpolicyperpaper,h-indexof12andap-indexof12.34.Ithasbeenobservedthatduring1977–1986,numberofpub-making,and(iv)contributionofinstitutionandindividual3licationswascomparativelybette
7、r.Between1987andresearchershouldbehighlighted.Quantitativeevaluation2005,alongrecessionwasobserved;againitisonriseofpublicationandcitationdataarethefundamentalmeth-from2006onwards,thecitationswerefollowingal-odstomeasuretheimpactandinfluenceofresearchand3–5mostth
