3、edinpaintings,etchings,anddrawings.HisworkhasbeendisplayedinnumerousPreciousAntiques,Flowersgalleriesandisrepresentedinimportantmuseumsthroughoutthecountry,andK’angHsiPeriod,severalyearsagohispaintingswerethesubjectofaone-manshowatGuildHall.1662–1722
4、ADSixty-twoyearsago,theLeibersbegancollectingantiqueChineseporcelains.TheyhavelongbeeninterestedinthehighdegreeofcivilizationattainedinChina,datingbackthousandsofyearswhenmanypartsoftheworldwereinastateofbarbarism.Now,theLeibershaveassembledapproxima
5、tely140oftheirbestporcelainpiecesfortheirfirstpublicexhibition.ThiseclecticcollectionofChineseporcelainscontainspiecesthatdatebackthousandsofyears,aswellaspiecesthatwerecreatedinthefirstyearsofthe20thCentury.Theexhibitionoffersvitalculturalandartisti
6、cinsightsintoChina’sgloriouspast,demonstratingitsmagnificentcontributiontotheartandcraftofporcelainpottery.Itisinterestingtoreflectthatforcenturies,asinglekindofmanufacturedmaterialhasbeencloselyidentifiedwithChina.InhomesthroughouttheEnglish-speakin
7、gworld,peoplespeakoffineChinawhenreferringtoplates,platters,cups,saucers,bowls,andvasesandvariousotheritems.Chinaisthemostenduringandrespectednamenotonlyforporcelains,butalsoforearthenwareandpottery.Thecountry’smasterpottershavelongbeenesteemedforthe
8、irartisticskills.Beginningthousandsofyearsago,thepotterinChinaheldauniquepositionasbothartistandartisan,creatingobjectsthatwerevaluedbyroyalty,byhouseholds,andbycollectors.Thepotters’creationswereprizedasexamplesofbothappliedandfineart.Theircreations
