3、97andInternationalBuildingCode(IBC)2003inrelationtotheseismicdesignandanalysisofspecialsteelmomentresistingflamebuildings(SMRF).ThispaperformulatesanumericalstudyofasteelSMRFbuilding.studiedinfourdifferentsituations,namely:asano伍cebuildinginSanFrancisco;asano伍cebuildinginSacramento;asane

4、ssentialfacilityinSanFrancisco.andasanessentialfacilityinSacramento.Theanalyticalresultsofthemodelbuildingsarethencomparedandanalyzedtakingnoteofanysignificantdifferences.Thiscasestudyexploresvariationsintheresultsobtainedusingthetwocodes.particularlythedesignbaseshearanddriflratiosasthe
