5、nlogicalandsound.Theconcentratedforceoftwenty-fiveyearsofsuccessfuleffortisnowbehindit,pushingitoutwardintonewfieldsandnewmarkets-inaword,intoexporttrade.RAPIDGROWTHOFEXPORTTRADENooneknowsjusthowlarge,orhowsmall,werethefoundationsofthistoweringstructure.In1895,perhaps300vehicleswereproduc
6、edinAmerica;by1900,thenumbermayhavebeen5,000.Exporttradewashardlythoughtof.Forthefirstandlasttime,importsprobablyequaledexports,althoughthenumbersweresonegligibleastohaveleftnoimpressionupontherecords.Itwasnotuntil1910thateitherproductionorexportsreallybegantomeritattention,butinthatyear,
