2、fseparation-individuation(PATHSEP)inauniversitysampleofemergentadults(N=245).Participantsrespondedtotheoriginal39-itemscale(ChristensonandWilson,1985),andalsototheBriefSymptomInventory(Derogatis,1993),fivesubscalesfromtheSeparation-IndividuationTestofAdolescence(L
3、evine,Green&Millon,1986),threesubscalesfromtheCollegeAdjustmentScale(AntonandReed,1991)andthecategoricalanddimensionalmeasureofadultattachmentstyle(Bartholomew&Horowitz,1991).Principalcomponentsanalysisderivedaone-factor,19-itemscale,accountingfor36%ofthevariance.
4、PATHSEPshowedstrongevidenceofconvergentanddiscriminantvaliditywithrespecttoSITAsubscales,andwasastrongpredictorofinterpersonalandfamilyproblems.PATHSEPwaspositivelycorrelatedwithnineindicatorsofsymptomatologyandbothfearfulandpreoccupiedattachmentstyle.Thesefinding
