5、ocietyhasexperiencedseveralmajorsocialchanges.Whetherthesesocialchangeswillaffectlanguageuseornothasbeenoneofthemajorconcernsoflinguisticfield.ThispaperchoosestheNewYear’sEditorialsofthePeople’sDailyasstudyobjectforthepurposetoexploretherelationsbetweendiscourseandsocialchange.Takingsystemicfunctio
