2GeneraldescriptionconceptApull-apartbasin(strike-slipbasin,rhombochasm)istypeofstructuralbasinwhichisdevelopedbetweentwooffsetsegmentsorataflexureinastrike-slipfaultoratransformfault.Apull-apartbasindevelopswherethesenseofoffsetleadstoextension,eitherataright-steppingoffsetonadextralsensefaultoraleft-steppingoffsetonasinistralfault.Thisgeometrymeansthatfaultdisplacementwillliterallypullasectionofcrustapartandcausetheextension.
