5、haca2001CommitteeChair:JackL.DavisABSTRACTBuildingIIIisaNeolithicarchitecturalremaininthearchaeologicalsiteofHalaiinCentralGreece.Itisasmallone-roomunitofstoneandmudbrickconstructionmeasuring2mx2.4m,containingfeaturesincludingadoorway,window,buttressandstonepavem
6、ents.Radiocarbonanalysissuggestsadatingbetween5900and5700BC,ortheGreekMiddleNeolithicPeriod.ThefindsexcavatedfromBuildingIIIincludeobsidiantoolsandNeolithicRed-on-Whiteware,whicharebothcharacteristicoftheperiod.BuildingIIIisaspecialexistenceamongthesixMiddleNeoli
7、thicstructuresexcavatedfromHalaibecauseitisthebestpreserved,andalsowasinuseforprobablythelongestperiodoftime.BuildingIIIoverlappedinitsphaseofusewithtwoearlystructures,BuildingsIandII.Afterthesetwostructuresfelloutofuse,BuildingIIIwasleftstandingwhiletheywerebuil
