5、consistentwiththeidealsoffreedomandindividualismtowhichwegivelipservice.Whoare"themasses"?Canthetermbemoreappropriatelyappliedtoothersthantoourselves?Weareallindividualsdifferinginqualitiesandabilities.Weallshareabasichumannaturecapableofself-development.Ifthisbenottru
6、ethentheidealoffreedomisafancifulmyth.Butthisidealisnotfanciful,norisitseconomicphase,freecom-petitiveenterprise.Theseareattainable.Theyareattainableifwequitregardingthosewewouldconvertasmassesorclasses.Theyareattainableifwerecognizetheindividualasthefountainheadofgood
