3、kinganddistributedcomputing.Ourusersinadistributed,openenvironment.Incontrastsystem,ClusterComputingontheFly,seekstoharvesttoGridcomputing[10],[12]andotherinstitution-cyclesfromordinaryusersinanopenaccess,non-basedcycle-sharingsystems[17],wearetargetinginstitut
4、ionalenvironment.anopenenvironment,onethatisaccessiblebytheTheCCOFcyclesharingsystemencompassesallactivitiesinvolvedinthemanagementofidlecycles:averagecitizenanddoesnotrequiremembershipinoverlayconstructionforhostsdonatingcycles,resourceanyorganization.Peer-to-
5、peercomputingrepresentsdiscoverywithintheoverlay,application-basedschedul-thenextstepindistributedcomputing,providinging,localschedulingonthehostnode,andmeta-levelpotentiallygreatercomputingpowerthaninstitutional-schedulingamongacommunityofapplication-levelbase
6、dprojectswhilealsoempoweringordinaryusers.schedulers.ThisviewofP2PcomputingisthefocusofseveralWeidentifyfourimportantclassesofcycle-sharingothercurrentresearchprojects[13],[5],[4].applications,eachwithdistinctrequirementsthatcallP2Pcomputinginanopenenvironmentg
7、ivesrisetoforapplication-specificschedulingstrategies.CCOF'sWaveSchedulerexploitslargeblocksofidletimeatanewgenerationofresourcemanagementproblemsnight,toprovidehigherqualityofservicefordeadline-thataredramaticallydifferentfromthoseaddresseddrivenworkpilejobs,us
