2、stbasedonanexoticuncertaintytheory,namelycloudmodel.Weregardtrustbetweenen-titiesasacloudthatiscalledastrustcloud.Basedonsuchaquantificationmodeloftrust,wefurtherproposethealgorithmstocomputepropagatedtrustrelation-shipsandaggregatedtrustrelationships,whichareneededfortrustreasoninginpervasivecomp
3、utingenvironments.Finally,wecomparetheproposedtrustmodelwithotherthreetypicalmodelsinsimulationexperiments,andtheresultsshowsthecloud-basedtrustmodelperformsbetterinatotalsense.1IntroductionTrusthasbeenresearchedformorethanteenyearssinceMarsh’swork[1].Becausetrustmechanismismoreflexibleandextensib
4、lethantraditionalsecurityapproachessuchasPKI[20],trusthasbeenintroducedintomanyothercyberfields,i.e.pervasivecomputing,peer-to-peernetworks,etc.Insuchcontexts,trustisalwaysregardedassubjective,therefore,howtomeasuretrustbecomeveryimportant.Tillnowmanyapproacheshavebeenproposedtoquantifytrust[1,2,3
5、],whicheitherusediscretenumberssuchas-1,0,1,etc.toindicatedifferenttrustlevels,orusearealnumberinterval,forinstance[0,1].However,sincetrustissubjective,itisnotenoughtodescribetrustwithdeterministicvalues.Asweknow,inhumansociety,whenwesaywetrustapersonverymuch,actuallywearenotsosureabouttowhatanacc
6、uratedegreetotrusthimorher.Ontheotherhand,wecantrusttwopersonsbothverymuch,butwemaytrustonealittlemorethantheother.Thesamecanbeappliedtopervasivecomputingenvironments.Hencewedeclarethatuncertaintyisanimportantnatureoftrust,whichmeanstrustrelation-shipsbetweenentitiesarefuzzyandstochastic.Forexampl
