3、h,serverload,availability,etc.).InthispaperwearguethatC2Ce-commerceisanapplicationdomainthatmapsnaturallyontotheemergingfieldofpeer-to-peer(P2P)systemssimplybyitsunderlyinginteractionmodelofcustomers,i.e.,peers.ThisofferstheopportunitytotakeP2Psystemsbeyondmerefile
4、sharingsystemsintointerestingnewapplicationdomains.Thelong-termgoalwouldbetodesignafullyfunctionaldecentralizedsystemwhichresembleseBaywithouteBay'sdedicated,centralizedinfrastructure.Sincesecurity(authenticity,non-repudiation,trust,etc.)iskeytoanye-commerceinfrast
5、ructure,ourenvisionedP2Pe-commerceplatformhastoaddressthesesecurityissuesadequately.AsthefirststepinthisdirectionwepresentanapproachforacompletelydecentralizedP2Ppublickeyinfrastructure(PKI)whichcanserveasthebasisforhigher-levelsecurityservice.Webaseitonastatistica
