2、byenterpriseswithinthemainland.Itincludesprocessingwithsuppliedmaterialsandprocessingwithimportedmaterials.Underprocessingwithsuppliedmaterials,theimportedmaterialsandpartsaresuppliedbytheforeignpartywhichisalsoresponsibleforsellingthefinishedproducts.Thebusinessenterpris

3、edoesnothavetomakeforeignexchangepaymentfortheimportsandonlychargestheforeignpartyaprocessingfee.Underprocessingwithimportedmaterials,thebusinessenterprisemakesforeignexchangepaymentfortheimportedmaterialsandpartsandexportsthefinishedproductsafterprocessing.Sincetheproces

4、singtradepolicywasimplementedinlate1970s,theprocessingtradeinChinahasbeendevelopinginasustainedandrapidmanner;thetotalvolumeofexportsandimportsintheformofprocessingtradeincreasedfromUS$2.5billionin1981toUS$831.9billionin2006,upbynearly333times,anditsproportioninforeigntra

5、deincreasedfrom5.7percentto48.6percent.TheDepartmentofMechanic,ElectronicandHi-TechIndustryoftheCommerceMinistryofPRCstatedthatwhatwasmoresatisfactorythananincreaseinquantitywasthatastheprocessingtradedevelopedcontinuallyandrapidly,thetransformationandupgradingofprocessin

6、gtradehadbeenaccelerated.Moreandmoreforeign-fundedenterprisestransferredtheirprocessingandmanufacturewithahighertechnologylevelandalargerappreciationcontenttoChina;influencedbythetechnologyandmanagementspillovereffectsinprocessingtrade,moreandmoreChinesecompanieshadspeede
