2、surfaceplasticinjectionmoldsteelPDS5onaCNCmachiningcenter.Thedesignandmanufactureofagrindingtoolholderhasbeenaccomplishedinthisstudy.TheoptimalsurfacegrindingparametersweredeterminedusingTaguchi’sorthogonalarraymethodforplasticinjectionmoldingsteelPDS5onamachiningcenter.Theoptimalsurfacegrindingp

3、arametersfortheplasticinjectionmoldsteelPDS5werethecombinationofanabrasivematerialofPAAl2O3,agrindingspeedof18000rpm,agrindingdepthof20μm,andafeedof50mm/min.ThesurfaceroughnessRaofthespecimencanbeimprovedfromabout1.60μmto0.35μmbyusingtheoptimalparametersforsurfacegrinding.SurfaceroughnessRacanbef

4、urtherimprovedfromabout0.343μmto0.06μmbyusingtheballburnishingprocesswiththeoptimalburnishingparameters.Applyingtheoptimalsurfacegrindingandburnishingparameterssequentiallytoafine-milledfreeformsurfacemoldinsert,thesurfaceroughnessRaoffreeformsurfaceregiononthetestedpartcanbeimprovedfromabout2.15
